My name is Leo McPherson and I am a session bassist working out of the North of Scotland.
I have been working professionally as a musician for over a decade and have performed in over twenty-five countries throughout the UK and Europe. I have worked with many musicians and producers from all over the world such as John Sinclair (Ozzy Osbourne, Uriah Heep, The Cult), Ashley Howe (Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Who) and Nick Brine (Oasis, The Darkness, Bruce Springsteen).
I am primarily a rock/prog bass player, and some of my main influences include Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, Tom Hamilton, Stu Hamm, Billy Sheehan, Chris Squire, Pino Paladino, Tony Levin and Roger Waters.
Please send me the song you’d like me to play, and let me know the BPM if we’re recording to click.
If you have a top line/vocal part, please include it, even if it’s just a rough take. This way I can be sure my bass parts won’t clash with your melody lines.
Any specific sound/tone/style in mind, or a favourite bass player you’d like me to emulate, let me know.
**The more detailed your request the better.**
I look forward to collaborating with you!
Thanks and all the best,
I can write and record a custom bass track for your song. I love writing interesting bass parts that ‘move’ and ‘pop’ while complimenting the song.
I primarily use a Fender Jazz Bass 5-string, but I own/have access to several other basses if there’s a specific sound you want.
I record through a Focusrite Scarlett interface and a BAE 1073 mic pre, and my DAW of choice is Logic Pro X.
I aim to deliver within 5 working days and offer a maximum of 2 revisions.
I will include the raw DI’d track so that the option is there to re-amp.
